Steph Curry Wins MVP!

The NBA has announced that Steph Curry will be named the 2016 MVP.  Curry led his team in breaking the Bulls’ 20-yr record for the most ever wins in a season (73). The question is, did he deserve it?

Critics argue that Steph is not a complete player…that he is “only a shooter”.  Others say that he just so happens to be on the best team in the NBA.  The team that is still managing to win without him.

Fans of Curry say that he is clearly the best player (averaging 30.1 pts, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists).  In addition to breaking his own record of 3 pt shots made in a season (402), Curry led the league in scoring for the second straight year.  As good as he was last year, Curry has actually improved in every statistical category, but one (assists), this season. The Warrior’s offense runs through him.

Even with his record-breaking performances this season, some have argued that Curry isn’t even the best player on his team.  With Curry’s absence, Draymond Green’s value on the team has become much more evident.

Steph Curry is the first ever unanimous MVP. Other superstars that received MVP votes include Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Chris Paul.

What are your thoughts?
